In the near future, the earth is full of yellow sand, wheat, okra and other basic crops have been extinct due to wilt disease, human beings no longer look up at the starry sky as before, indulging their imagination and inspiration, but counting down the few remaining scenes under the ravages of sandstorms every day. Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a former NASA astronaut who works as a family farmer, discovers strange gravitational field phenomena in his daughter Murphy's (Mackenzie Foy) study one after another, and then learns that former NASA members are still secretly carrying out a plan to save humanity in an unknown area. Years ago, a mysterious wormhole appeared near Saturn, and NASA took the opportunity to send several astronauts to distant galaxies in search of habitable planets.
