在一场人类的浩劫之中，兰顿（三瓶由布子配音）的父亲牺牲了自己，拯救了地球，被称为英雄永久的记入了史aaa。失去父亲后，兰顿一直和身为机械工程师的祖父相依为命。日复一日的寻常生活让兰顿感到十分压抑，只有一件事情能够激起他的兴趣，那就是在青年之中十分流行的“滑空”运动。兰顿十分仰慕滑空天才霍兰德（藤原启治配音），一直希望能够加入他的组织“月光洲”。某日，一位名叫优莱卡（名冢佳织配音）的神秘女孩驾驶着一架故障的LOF从天而降落到了兰顿的家中，随后，军队赶到，似乎在对优莱卡进行追捕。兰顿凭借着自己的勇气和实力战胜了军队，并因此而获得了加入月光洲的机会，少年平凡的命运就此改变。
