廟會中，戲棚上正精采熱鬧的演歌仔戲，一場『指腹為婚』的戲碼，讓戲台下大腹便便的洪茶與滿足靈機一動，索性學起了戲子，為兩人肚子裡的孩子指腹為婚，訂下了終aaa。滿足的丈夫粗皮雄和洪茶的丈夫卓有春，是一對從小鬥到大的冤家！起初兩人並不同意這樁指腹為婚的婚事，最後在里長伯的極力勸說之下，無奈地答應下來。孩子在眾人期盼之中誕生了，滿足生個女兒招弟，洪茶生個壯丁天送，自此兩家親家長親家短互稱了好幾年！接著幾年當中，洪茶陸續生了個男孩天保，滿足生了個千金迎弟。卓有春時常炫耀他生了兩個兒子，這令連生了兩個女兒的粗皮雄心中十分鬱卒，尤其是招弟因故腿傷，卓有春悔婚，不承認兩家指腹為婚的事實，粗皮雄與卓有春更是鬧得不可開交！粗皮雄與卓有春的反目，最直接受害的是孩子們！天送與招弟的感情受阻，兩人被迫分開，各自嫁娶！天保與迎弟也因雙親的恩怨而無法結合！因而發生許多事故。原本垂手可得的幸福，因上一代的無知與計較，非但化為烏有，甚至造成了悲劇！本劇雖以喜劇的方式呈現，但笑中有淚，淚中有悟，悟中有得，令人深思！
